Amsterdam

The first time I went to Amsterdam, I wasn’t really sure what to make of it. Dam Square and the surrounding area really wasn’t for me. I’m glad I gave it a second (and third) chance though, as it’s undoubtedly become one of my favourite cities.

You can’t beat hiring bikes and cycling to Vondelpark for a few beers by the lake. Speaking of beers, make sure you visit Craft & Draft and Beer Temple. Brilliant bars. Check out Brouwerij ‘t IJ – a brewery in a windmill – too.

For cocktails, Tales & Spirits is unreal and Hiding In Plain Sight is well worth a try ‘n’ all.

We’re lucky that Amsterdam is one of the few places you can still fly to from our beloved local airport! As always, we booked through Expedia and got a good deal on flights and hotel.

I showed these photos to a friend who was there at the same time as us on a stag dü and he said we must’ve visited a different Amsterdam to him… I think he’s probably right!

If you’ve never been before and are put off by things you might’ve heard: don’t be. It’s a beautiful and fantastic city. I can’t wait to visit again soon.
